Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase of three hundred ninety (390) refurbished desktop computers to replace outdated student computers and to add student computers for PARCC testing that will be placed in various classrooms across the System. Funds are available for this purchase within the General Purpose School Fund budget for the current fiscal year as previously approved by the Board (State allocation for PARCC Readiness is $241,775). We received six (6) bids for this purchase. Bids are summarized on the bid request tally sheet. All units covered by these bids come with a three (3) year warranty. Individual bids were as follows:

Insight Investments – $63,960.00
School Tech Supply – $81,900.00
Everyday PC – $65,898.30
Zones – $157,950.00
VIG Solutions – $62,010.00 (computers come with five year warranty)
CDI Computer Dealers – $69,810.00

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the bid received as submitted by VIG Solutions in the amount of $62,010.00 for three hundred ninety (390) refurbished desktop computers.
